MULTISKILLED FACILITIES ENG IV - ENGINEERING

Multiskilled Facilities Engineers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all areas in the hospital.
Engineers will be required to consistently respond to work orders, emergencies and scheduled maintenance in a timely fashion.
Engineers must be able to work by Hoag standards in a safe and orderly process, foster a work environment that promotes continuous improvement of engineering functions and actively functions as a team member and demonstrates commitment to quality of service.

Job Specific
Essential Functions:

  • Performs basic building repairs to the facility (which includes but is not limited to) drywall, framing, basic demolition and repairs such as patch and paint.
  • Performs basic repairs to plumbing fixtures, clears water lines.
  • Performs repairs and maintenance on hospital equipment (including but not limited to) beds, food service equipment, pneumatic tube system, and TV.
  • Works with Life Safety systems, fire alarm, FM-200, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, security systems, and medical gas.
  • Monitor cooling, heating, and ventilation areas utilizing the Hospital s building management systems.
  • Correctly performs basic repairs to lighting systems (i.

    changing lamps, resetting circuit breakers).
  • Will work the Houseman s duties multiple times per week.
  • Reads and understands utility maps, As-Built drawings, and perform shutdowns as required.
  • Correctly installs new framing, corner protection, door assemblies, tapes, finish drywall and refinished casework.
  • Correctly installs new plumbing fixtures (including but not limited to) faucets, showers, P-traps, P-Trap primers, minor soldering of copper piping.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, Electrical and low voltage equipment, which includes fire alarm, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, safety and security systems as assigned.
  • Adjust, calibrate, and replace thermostats to maintain acceptable environmental conditions for patients, employees, and visitors.
  • Correctly and competently installs TV systems and associated equipment.
  • Familiar with Locksmith's responsibilities, which include the duplication of keys; installation, repair, and replacement of worn door locks, padlocks, desk locks, and cabinet locks.
  • Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of equipment and systems and utilizes resources such as project plans and utility maps to review, analyze, and evaluate complex problems and provide recommendations

Should be fully competent and qualified in one of the following disciplines as specified by the Hospital:

  • Building Repair - Manages complex plumbing, framing, and drywall repairs and installations with little or no supervision (including patch and paint).
  • HVAC-R Operate and perform complete maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including removing and charging refrigerant, which requires an EPA certificate.
  • Electrical Certification - Accurately, effectively and competently inspects, installs, repairs, troubleshoots, tests and replaces electrical circuits, hospital equipment, kitchen equipment, and appliances to supply electrical power for lighting and equipment operation in the facility.
  • Low Voltage Certification - Accurately, effectively and competently installs, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces alarm and signal systems, which include fire alarm, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, safety and security systems.
  • Locksmith Certification - Maintains hospital master key program; maintains all doors and holds open devices in compliance with governmental, state and local codes and regulations.
  • Will work the Houseman s duties a minimum of 1 time per week, or as needed.

Education, Training, and
Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Obtain competency and qualification in one discipline as noted in the FE III job description.

Skills or Other
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Able to independently perform complex diagnosis and repair of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, low voltage systems, pneumatic tube system, foodservice equipment, patient equipment.
  • Able to travel to off-site facilities to complete repairs as requested.

License and Certifications:

  • Multiskilled Facility Engineer III:
    Certification in one of the disciplines as described in MKFE II.
    Multiskilled Facility Engineer IV and Lead:
  • Certification in two or more of the disciplines as described in MKFE IV.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
